CONCRETE SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

HOW THICK SHOULD CONCRETE BE FOR A CAR LIFT?

Amsan lifts must install on a solid concrete surface only. Our lifts have concrete specifications requirements to secure them to a concrete base. Make sure the concrete is thick enough to support the hoist. The concrete slab needs to be a certain depth to safely install the car lift.

If you are installing the lift on the existing concrete floor you should test the floor to verify the minimum floor compressive strength. Check your build drawings to verify proper floor reinforcement. A continuous single slab requires for all two post lifts.

Do not install Amsan lift on hand-mixed concrete.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NEW CONCRETE SLAB

Lift must be installed on a concrete surface a minimum of 12” thick and 4,000 psi tensile strength.

Minimum Aging of New Concrete Slab: 28 Days

Make sure the concrete is in good condition and free of large cracks.

For precise information regarding required edge distances and bolt-to-bolt distances, consult the anchor manufacturer’s specifications.

Do not install Amsan lift on hand-mixed concrete.

Whatever technique you use, keep in mind that the anchor bolts on the Lift should be checked every day.
